Mushrooms Cup

Approximately $3.75 250gm $15.00 per kg

Description

What and Where A more mature button mushroom; because it is grown for longer its gills are able to open up. Our growers are local to Victoria. We don’t buy from one particular cup mushroom grower; we buy whatever looks best on the day.

Flavour Still mild, but stronger than a button mushroom

Texture Firm

Use Cup mushrooms can be baked whole, or sliced, diced or quartered and added to a wide variety of dishes - soups, sauces, casseroles and stews. They can also be sautéed with butter and herbs or with olive and garlic then folded into an omelet or a crepe or just piled onto bruschetta or toasted sough dough.

Cooking Tip Mushrooms don’t need to be washed or peeled; just use a paper towel or damp cloth to wipe away of any specks of soil.

Selection and Storage Look for dry mushrooms with a smooth, wrinkle-free skin. Keep in a paper bag (never a plastic one as this causes the mushrooms to sweat and spoil) in the fridge. In Season Available all year
